Colgate alumni have no doubt been hearing and reading a great deal lately about the University's new initiatives in globalizing and internationalizing the curriculum. Recognizing the need to equip our students to operate in an interconnected world, Colgate is building on its long standing tradition of faculty directed study groups and experiences like the Model African Union program to highlight the global dimensions of all aspects of daily life. Recent initiatives such as the approved list of non-Colgate study abroad programs and the portability of financial aid will make it possible for students to explore outside the range of programs our faculty can support. Other new programs such as extended study and the sophomore residential seminars can bring the advantages of faculty directed travel to more students for short, but intensive. periods. Professor Moran will explain these new initiatives and answer questions about how we are engaging with the world from our campus in Hamilton.
